Katie's newest favorite game is "duck, duck, goose."  When we play it with just two people, it is basically a game of tag. 

This evening, Katie came to me and said, "Daddy, will you play 'duck, duck, goose' with me?"

Not wanting to run around our apartment, I declined with the counter offer: "No, Katie.  How about if we play 'Simon says'?"

Without missing a beat, Katie immediately responded, "Ok.  I'll go first.  Simon says play 'duck, duck, goose.'"

An energetic Katie didn't want to go to bed tonight.  I got a great idea: let's turn this into a game.

I explained, "Hey, Katie, let's have a race!  Let's see who can go to sleep first."

Katie thought for a minute and said, "Ok, good idea, Daddy.  You win.  Close your eyes and go to sleep.  I'm going to go play."

Katie's Request

Tonight, Katie announced: "Daddy, I want Mommy to go to the doctor to get me another sister tomorrow. But not one like Elizabeth - not a baby. I want a new sister that can walk...just like me, and you, and Mommy. I really want a new sister tomorrow...a big one who can walk, okay?"
