My favorite part of Philadelphia was grabbing a picnic lunch (cheese steaks of course) from our favorite street vendor, finding a bench in the giant park in front of Independence Hall and watching the girls enjoy playing and running around. This history nerd couldn't help but think of all the amazing men that had stood in that area planning, fighting and designing our country.  We are so very blessed.

City Tavern

Husband took me to The City Tavern on our honeymoon many years ago.  We had to go back and show the girls.  I LOVED the pewter cups.  So did Katie (and I learned that Thomas Jefferson's favorite biscuits are simply amazing!).  I am going to try to make them this winter.  If they turn out, I will post the recipe.
