Hello, Malaysia!

For reasons that are completely unknown to me, our blog has garnered considerable traffic from Malaysia today.  Every week, we generally get a handful of visits from countries other than the U.S. and U.K., but I'm a little puzzled why today we have such a large spike from Malaysia.  If you're currently reading this in Malaysia, feel free to leave a comment on what led you to the site.

Looking at the map of all of our visitors makes me think that I should monetize this site and allow Google to place ads on our little blog.  I imagine that by doing this, over the long-term we could undoubtedly earn hundreds and hundreds of cents.

C'mon Everyone....Let Me Hear You Say 'Woot, Woot"!

The New Year's Eve crowds have descended upon Times Square.  It is really, really crowded.  I just took Katie out for lunch while Mommy and Elizabeth rested.

As we were walking home, we were stopped at a street corner with hundreds of other people.  Suddenly Katie yelled out in a very high pitched voice, "Woot, woot...woot, woot...woot, woot."  Imagine her yelling this cheer while performing a little dance with a "raise the roof" motion with her hands.

Katie continued her very loud performance, "C'mon, everybody!  Let me year you say, "Woot, woot...woot, woot."

Most of the crowd was either staring at her or ignoring her, but a handful of college-age kids started getting into this performance with her, as Katie led them in the yell, "Woot, woot...woot, woot."

Katie just kept going and the crowd kept growing, "Okay, everybody.  On the count of three let me year you say, "Woot, woot...woot, woot."  All while performing the little dance and the "raise the roof" motion with her hands.

Katie led her followers in this cheer for about 3 blocks through Times Square.  I think we have a little MC on our hands.

Merry Christmas!

Daddy's Christmas Gift

For Christmas this year, Wife gave me a new keyboard for my iPad.  She picked out a great one: the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Cover.  I finally got a chance to get this new bluetooth keyboard paired with my iPad (which was slightly trickier than I anticipated that it would be).  Thus, the purpose of this post is simply to try out my new keyboard (we have something like 1700 blog posts, and I have never posted from my iPad, even though, for during my leisure hours, most of my internet usage is from my iPad.  I'm pleased to report that Wife got an amazing deal on the keyboard.

The first few minutes of typing on this new keyboard is turning out to be a very positive experience.  I can type nearly as quickly as I can on my full sized keyboard with virtually no practice on this new keyboard.  My hope is that I can start using my iPad at work for meetings and taking notes (I still use legal pads in meetings and on most conference calls).

As far as a case, this isn't going to provide much protection for the iPad (other than for the screen), but it sure looks pretty.  Frankly, if I'm going to walk around the office going into meetings with my iPad, I need it to look good, and this certainly fits the bill.  I'm going to need to keep my iPad in a sleeve of some sort for protection.

Thanks for the awesome gift, Wife!
