Hello Katie

Katie and I went to a birthday party in Central Park.  It was a beautiful day and Katie had Ariel from the Little Mermaid paint her face.

New Fish

We have some sad news.  On Wednesday,  April, 16, 2014, our dear pet fish, Anna passed away.  It was a very sad night full of many tears.  On Saturday, Daddy took Katie to pick out some new fish.  Here are the fish with the girls doing their best impressions.  Names of the fish to be determined.

Conversations with Katie

This morning, as we were walking to church, Katie decided that she wanted to have what, in her mind, is an extremely important conversations.

"Daddy," she began, "We need to go on a holiday." (The child doesn't realize she's an American - she calls vacations a "holiday.")

Playing along, I asked where we should go.  Katie's immediate response: "The mountains.  The mountains in New York.  I don't want to leave New York."

She continued: "Daddy, you need to buy some car insurance.  Good car insurance."

Intrigued, I inquired why I need to buy car insurance.  Katie was happy to explain: "To go on our holiday, we are going to need to rent a car.  When we rent a car, we need car insurance.  You should get the car insurance now so we will be ready for our holiday."

As I mulled this over, Katie kept going with the conversation.

"Daddy.  I don't want to leave New York City.  Ever."

Recently, Katie may have overheard her parents having some discussions that could involve a move.  I pressed her, "So, you don't want to leave New York City?"

"No, never," she replied. "If you want to move to another place that has more rooms, that's okay, but we can't leave New York City.  I LOVE New York City."

"Katie, why can't we leave New York City," I asked.

"Well..." she expalined, "Mike.  He cracks me up."

"Umm...Katie, are you saying that we can't move because you like our doorman?"

"Yes, Daddy.  We can move to a bigger apartment if you want.  But Mike cracks me up.  We need to stay in New York City."

So, there you have if folks.  We can't move because Katie likes one of our doormen.
