We Are Now New Yorkers!!!

Greetings from the Big Apple! In the last few weeks, we have been inundated with requests from friends and family to keep them updated on our adventures in New York. This new blog is our attempt to keep our family and friends updated with what is going on in our lives as well as to maintain a journal of our adventures.

Who Are We?

If you are reading this blog, you probably know who we are, where we are from, and what we are doing in NYC. While we are in no way ashamed of any of that information, it is NOT our desire to create a personal online journal to destroy any semblance of privacy that we have, so we will simply assume the pseudonyms “Husband” and “Wife.”

Just in case you don’t know who we are, here is a very brief bio to provide some context. We just arrived in NYC a little over a week ago. Husband is at the best law school in New York, at the premier law school in his field. This law school, and specifically this program, is the reason that we moved to New York. Wife’s experience is working in the business world; she selflessly left a wonderful job two weeks ago for this career opportunity for Husband. She is currently interviewing for positions here in New York.

What This Blog’s Purpose?

People who stumble upon this blog will probably find that our site is different than most other blogs (at least different than the good ones). We are not creating a blog to entertain, educate, or even edify the masses. Instead, we are creating a journal for friends and family to follow along with our new adventures. Much of our experiences here will be stressful—hopefully, blogging will be a way for us to relax (if it starts to become stressful or too much work—we will stop). Another purpose of this blog is to help us to keep a diary of our experiences in New York for ourselves. We know that our time in the Big Apple is going to go by extremely quickly. Hopefully, this journal will help us to preserve the memories as we make them.

Our Privacy

If you have read the rest of this introductory post, you gleaned the importance of our privacy to us. We do not want employers, clients, or potential stalkers learning personal information about us from our blog. If our neighbor somehow stumbles upon this blog and is able to identify us as the authors, we will have failed. For privacy sake, we will never post our names, our pictures, our past or current employers, or even our past educational institutions. Undoubtedly, a few people we don’t know will stumble upon this page. That’s wonderful, and we hope anyone who reads our experiences finds it entertaining. Our point is simply that we want to keep our anonymity, and we need your help.

Comments

We love to hear from friends and family! As we create this online diary, we would love to read your comments, so feel free to comment with your thoughts. However, we ask you to maintain our privacy with what you write. So, please use common sense when posting. For starters, don’t use either our first or last names (just refer to us as Husband or Wife). Also, please don’t refer to the cities, employers, or institutions we are from (don’t say, “We really miss you here at XYZ”). Remember, if our last name is the same as yours, revealing your last name reveals ours. In order to protect our privacy, we will delete any comment that we feel reveals personal information we would rather not share. So, please help us to maintain our privacy, but leave as many comments as you would like!

Check back often. We plan to update frequently with short posts.

Wow! Wife and Husband! What a cool way to keep up with you! Neat pictures and stories! I certainly understand the need for privacy, once I googled my son's name and found your previous blog of us singing at church! We do miss you and look forward to seeing you here again! Please always keep in touch wherever you may be!
